The Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC), the initiative dedicated to voice the needs and requirements of over 90 separate manufacturing and construction firms around the country dealing with the material known as mastic asphalt, are proud to welcome a new Company Director through their doors to steer the ship for the years ahead. From February the 1st of this year, Mister Malcolm Grindstead will be running the council in place of John Bowers, the dedicated and reputed force behind the council who sadly died last April. Malcolm Grinstead will be expected to fill the position with as much dedication and passion as John Bowers did, and is very honored to have been chosen to lead the MAC throughout the years ahead.
He has announced his commitment to the effective properties of strength and durability of mastic asphalt himself, and is reportedly keen to demonstrate and encourage its uses among younger architects and manufacturing outlets, in order to enable the product to appeal to all generations of the industry. Indeed, it seems that Malcolm Grinsteadâs impressive portfolio in the manufacturing and construction business makes him the perfect man for the job. Having worked in the construction sector for over than 45 years, Grinstead has worked in a number of contractual positions with such firms as Briggs Amasco and Permanite Asphalt/IKO. With his experience in both the technical and managerial aspects of the trade, it is clear that he will be able to understand the innings and workings of the MAC and will use his knowledge of the trade to full use in order to enable the future of mastic asphalt and the council itself to be secure.
And at such turbulent times in the manufacturing and construction industries as these, with reports on skills shortages rife and concerns for the future of EU nationals working in Britain, it seems that the MAC will need a director with the character and broad range of knowledge that Malcolm Grinsteadâs portfolio undoubtedly appears to match.
