Federation of Engine Remanufacturers AGM Held in October

Federation of Engine Remanufacturers AGM Held in October : The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers will be holding their Annual General Meeting, or AGM on the 7th October at the IAAF offices in Birmingham. The Federation was first formed in 1937 in order to ensure higher standards of workmanship in the industry. The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers, or FER now operates as the only corporate body to represent engine remanufacturing in the UK.

As technology and legislation changes, the FER have had to widen its remit. The organisation has attracted attention for a range of companies that are involved in the wider aspects of the remanufacturing industry such as the reconditioning of turbos and other major units. The changes in legislation, such as the plan to ban sole petrol and diesel engine cars from 2040, means that the FER needs to constantly work to offer the best future for their members possible.

The UK government has relatively recently announced their plans to prevent the production of sole petrol and diesel engines from 2040, and the Federation will be looking at how it can prepare their members for this change at their upcoming AGM. All members are encouraged to attend the AGM in October and those who are interested ate asked to contact the FER. On the day of the even, following registration there will be a presentation given by the leading engine parts supplier, Elring before the start of the AGM.

The AGM reflects on all of the work that has been carried out by the Federation over the course of the last 12 months while also looking at the challenges that will be addressed in the coming 12 months. The FER has been an important part of the implementation of new standards and efficiencies throughout the engine remanufacturing sector. The Federation and all of its members work to the British Standards BS AU 257: 2002.
