Food equipment manufacturing firm Concept Engineering has designed the UKâs first machine to solve dried fruit solution.
The Concept Fruit Breaker System specifically loosens up dried fruit and is said to fit perfectly into production lines and has the capability to break 25kg blocks of raisings in just seven seconds.
The new machine came into development after one of the UKâs leading suppliers of speciality nuts, dried fruit and confectionery required a bespoke solution to improve efficiency.
As a result, Concept Engineering of Hull were approached and their director Andrew Cowper designed the only machine of its kind that is capable of breaking dried fruit blocks without causing any damage.
Featured in the Concept Fruit Breaker is an agitator which is used to break up solid blocks of dried fruit, which was a task that previously had to be carried out manually.
Steve Larkin, Managing Director of Concept Engineering, said that the product started out as a bespoke design for a customer who could not find an off the shelf solution, with the machine now going into production to meet the demand.
Larkin continued: We are able to provide a full solution, including agitator and conveyor system, designed specifically for the clientâs dried fruit process.
Our system speeds up production and produces significant savings in labour costs. We specialise in providing bespoke solutions to manufacturers across a range of industry sectors, but where there is clear demand we are now putting our systems into production.
Concept Engineering delivers engineering and manufacturing solutions to companies in the UK and abroad throughout a range of industry sectors.
These sectors range from bespoke machines, equipment and structures to complex conveyor systems.
Concept Engineering say that they have the skills and experience to manufacture products of the highest quality â on time and on budget.
