AtkinsRéalis

AtkinsRéalis, a fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world, has received the National Safety Council’s (NSC) inaugural Culture Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Safety Champion Award. The award recognizes AtkinsRéalis Nuclear for weaving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) into its organizational culture and for its commitment to advancing psychological safety.

“This award is extremely gratifying because it means that our people feel valued, supported and heard at work and feel they’re making a difference in our communities,” said Jim Rugg, President, Nuclear, AtkinsRéalis. “As an organization we are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone belongs, and reach their full potential while being their true self. We are honored to be the first recipients of this award.”

AtkinsRéalis Nuclear employees in the United States participated in an internal psychological safety survey, benchmarking the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote diversity across the talent pipeline and supply chain and its empowerment of team members’ holistic wellbeing as part of the company’s safety culture. Companywide, AtkinsRéalis has incorporated DE&I safety initiatives into its core Sustainable Business Strategy. The award was presented during the opening session of NSC’s 2023 Safety Congress & Expo to recognize stand-out companies who share the Council’s commitment to fostering safer environments and outcomes for all.

Internationally, AtkinsRéalis’ workforce speaks more than 70 languages, representing 130 nationalities across six continents. The company’s Global DE&I program “Different Makes a Difference,” outlines quantitative and qualitative 2025 targets to be more inclusive, collaborative and innovative using its global voice to drive change and champion progress. Team members have embraced the program and have developed 31 worldwide Employee Resource Groups (ERG). The employee owned and led ERG help identify barriers and opportunities within the career paths and were instrumental in developing and supporting AtkinsRéalis’ global Allyship program.
