Mollart Engineering has secured export orders of its gundrilling machine worth a huge £2m. The nine-machine order is reported to have put the company on target for its build ambitions for this financial year as well as setting the firm up nicely for even better 2018.
The machines have been snapped up by automotive industry customers in Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic and Romania) and China.
Sales director for Mollart Engineering, Ian Petitt, called the orders very significant, revealing that contracts had been won against fierce competition thanks to Mollart Engineeringâs unique standing where quality and precision engineering are concerned. He also said that the companyâs positive industry reputation has worked in its favour with one particular client motivated by the machinesâ long-term reliability as well as the level of customer service provided by Mollart Engineering.
£2m worth of orders certainly inspires a level of confidence in the companyâs new management team after the former family business was snapped up from founder, Guy Mollart, in March this year.
The new owners, Ian Petitt, Chris Barker, Mike Pragnell, Wayne Thomas and Jon Upton, have placed increased emphasis on the exports market â this £2m deal being reflective of that ambition. Indeed, later this year, Mollart Engineering is heading to Chicago to attend the IMTS manufacturing technology exhibition. Showcasing its products and services at Stand S-9290, the firm hopes to boost interest overseas and encourage new customers and new order abroad.
The company is not stranger to the IMTS exhibition; at a previous event, Mollart Engineering secured orders worth more than $10m for its special-purpose gundrilling machines. The machines are specially-designed for the US automotive industry and are capable of producing of oil galleries in transmission shafts (9- or 10-speed automatic gearboxes).
At this edition of the IMTS, Mollart Engineering will showcase its latest innovation in gundrilling, a knee-type, multi-spindle machine which incorporates a full Fanuc 35i control system as well as a drives package.
