We Cut Our Chamfering Process Time By 99%

One of ATA’s heavy casting foundry customers had been facing a challenge in revising 24 holes for M50 threads on a steel application. The process of chamfering one hole with a bur was taking 3.5 hours, which meant that completing the job for all 24 holes would have taken an incredibly long time. It was a significant problem that needed a solution, and ATA had just the right product to help.

ATA recently demonstrated their latest innovation, the NEW Karnasch Electric Bevelling tool and solid carbide cutters. With a powerful 1.53kW motor and the Tisinos® coated cutter, the customer was able to achieve a 99% time saving, and drive productivity. The process of chamfering the remaining twenty-three holes took just 45 minutes, thanks to the 45° bevelling cutter, which provided an accurate and smooth bevelled edge.

The operator was impressed with the product’s effectiveness, and the customer placed an order for the tool and cutter on the same day. The compact and portable design of the tool, weighing only 4.5kg, made the process much more efficient and required minimal physical effort.
