AMETEK Land, the world’s leading manufacturer of monitors and analysers for industrial non-contact temperature measurement, has enhanced its strategic product development offering by promoting Dr Fiona Turner to Global Head of Product Management. Additionally, Dr Tim Godden has been promoted to Physics Section Manager to continue the physics development.
“This move will ensure we futureproof our product development within the industry. AMETEK Land has a fantastic product portfolio that we’re continuously building, and Fiona’s experience and training will drive this forward,” commented Fiona, who will report to David Primhak, Director of Development and Product Management.
Building on her extensive training and experience in physics, technology, and applications within the company, Fiona is now responsible for implementing product strategies for new and existing AMETEK Land product lines to maximise growth. Fiona will also be responsible for developing a robust product roadmap to ensure AMETEK Land maintains its position as a thought leader through the delivery of technical content, publications, and a strong patent pipeline.
To support this move, Tim will build on the strong physics offering that Fiona has developed for all product lines to deliver differentiated world-class products and technology.
“Both of these promotions are well deserved and will keep AMETEK Land at the forefront of our physics development and new product innovations. Tim’s education and experience are second to none. We’re excited to see how the physics function will grow under his leadership, building on Fiona’s strong base,” added Dr Peter Drögmöller, Director of Innovation and Technology.
Fiona joined AMETEK Land in 2010 as a Physics Section Manager with a Ph.D. in Physics from Cambridge University and a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Physics from Manchester University. Prior to joining AMETEK Land, Fiona gained extensive experience in imaging and laser technology as the Senior Application Engineer at Ingenia Technology and the Head of R&D at Laser Rail.
Tim holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Physics from The University of Sheffield. He joined AMETEK Land in 2019 as a Design Physicist and has extensive experience in 3D imaging and quantum dot detector technology. His previous roles include research and development, and Application Scientist at Phasefocus, Ltd. and a Physicist at Innovative Technology, Ltd.
