Fully Charged Show Set to Take Off in 2020

Robert Llewellyn’s Fully Charged, the World’s no.1 Electric Vehicle and Clean Energy Show, is bringing its smash hit LIVE exhibition back for its third outing on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd May 2020. Having outgrown its launch venue, Silverstone, in less than two years, Fully Charged LIVE will land at the birthplace of British Aviation – Farnborough International – for three days in the Spring.

A YouTube phenomenon that averages 4 million episode views every month, Fully Charged is a channel that covers electric vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from electric bikes to electric boats and everything in between, and also covers the clean, renewable energy that these technologies can run on. As Electric Cars become more popular in the UK – with a 150% uplift in year on year sales* – Fully Charged LIVE offers the perfect opportunity for consumers to check what options are available to them.

Fully Charged LIVE 2020 will be a fun-filled festival with dozens of live sessions hosted by the Fully Charged team of presenters, more than 150 exhibitors and thousands of test drives of all of the latest Electric Vehicles on sale in the UK. By being within striking distance** of more than 27 million consumers and with more than 20,000 square metres of exhibition space, Farnborough is the perfect destination.

“We’ve been blown away by the audiences at Fully Charged LIVE and we weren’t expecting to having to move to a bigger venue so soon, but as electric vehicles enter the mainstream, its growth seems unstoppable. Farnborough gives us great scope to showcase all of the incredible ‘cleaner’ technologies that consumers have to look forward to. As ever we’re really grateful to everyone that supports the show, and we would like to warmly welcome our new headline partners, LV= General Insurance. While it is still 6 months away, we can’t wait to see thousands of people descend on Fully Charged LIVE at Farnborough” said Fully Charged’s Robert Llewellyn.

An exhilarating festival of clean energy and electric vehicles, the three-day show will be packed with visitor attractions, including more than 50 entertaining, live sessions on relevant decarbonisation discussions about the vehicles we drive, to the energy we use, to topics as diverse as plastic pollution and veganism. Fully Charged LIVE will also bring together celebrity electric vehicle drivers, offer family-friendly fun in the Kid Zone, and provide a Test Track for electric bikes and scooters. What’s more Fully Charged will showcase every available electric vehicle in the UK, including electrified classics and curiosities. Above all Fully Charged LIVE will work with the major car companies to offer visitors the opportunity to ‘try before they buy’ with thousands of EV test drives.

Tom Clarke of LV= General Insurance added: “We’re very excited to be the headline partners for next year’s Fully Charged LIVE. We attended the event for the first time this year, following our launch of the UK’s first car insurance product developed solely for electric cars, and it was fantastic to see so many electric vehicles and cleantech enthusiasts all in one place. The motor industry is transforming at an incredible rate, with some of the most exciting developments being seen in the growing market for electric cars and it’ll be great to see all the latest technology and thinking showcased at next year’s event.”

Gareth Rogers, Farnborough International had this to say: “Creating sustainable transport solutions is a major focus for Farnborough International and we’re delighted to host an event that is taking a lead in making electric mobility a reality. There are many parallels with aerospace which, combined with the heritage of our location as a launch pad for innovation, makes the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre the obvious choice for hosting Fully Charged: an exhibition set to have broad influence and impact.”

Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive of REA said: “The renewable energy and clean technology industries are going through an exciting period of innovation and transformation. Many of our members, who are cutting edge clean energy manufacturers, installers, and operators from Britain and beyond, are not only supporters of the exhibition but are personal fans of the YouTube show. Robert and the Fully Charged team are playing a key role in building the market for clean energy products and we’re pleased to continue to be the ‘Industry Partner’ for the exhibition.”
