Travel Information

Edinburgh is well-connected by train and by air. For those traveling by car, the easiest access is via the A7.

There is a very frequent train service to Edinburgh Waverley from the south, with the journey from London Kings Cross being a little under five hours on average. From the station to the conference venue would be a short taxi ride, or if the weather is good and your luggage not too heavy, a very pleasant half hour walk skirting Holyrood Rark.

Edinburgh Airport is situated about 10 miles to the West of the city. There are direct flights from many British and European cities. For those considering making a long weekend of it after the conference, do consider making a side trip to one of the Islands: Islay, Lewis, Shetland, Orkney, or even to the Faroe Islands. In comparison to the full-price train fare from London, these are a snip!

Seminar Sponsors

We are very grateful to our generous Seminar Sponsors: TenCate Advanced Composites; Johns Manville; Babcock; Oil & Gas Innovation Centre; Irish Composites Centre; Northern Ireland Advanced Engineering Competence Centre; Lightweight Manufacturing Centre, University of Strathclyde; and the University of Edinburgh.
