Lynas Engineers, the Teeside-based civil engineering company, has completed a series of projects in quick succession for a leading sustainable transport planner, which resulted in the two companies forming a strategic partnership.
The ten projects completed for TPS Transport Consultants included delivering vehicle tracking and junction design services for the Wakefield business in only a matter of only nine weeks. The projects awarded varied in size, value, requirements and time frames ranging from one hour up to 20 hours.
“We’ve been working closely with TPS over the past several months and during that time our business relationship has grown significantly and we have now formed a strategic partnership that will be mutually beneficial for both businesses,” said Rob Lynas, Managing Director at Lynas Engineers.
“The company will provide us with planning assistance and safety audits as and when required, and in turn, we will provide TPS with expertise in our field. Collaborative working is key to help young companies like ours grow and, as such, we believe this partnership will play a pivotal role in our future plans,” Rob added.
A key role in delivering the contracts for TPS was played by a state-of-the-art software used to test out designs in a real world simulation. The company used AutoTrack, an AutoCAD add-on software, for vehicle tracking on behalf of TPS to ensure that planned roads are the correct width for all vehicles to be able to easily maneuver around the area.
As well as vehicle tracking for TPS, Lynas Engineers recently completed other project work such as junction design and positioning, visibility splays and white lining, where appropriate, for certain junctions. Using the software, Lynas Engineers was able to provide the transport specialists with feedback and a creative solution for the proposed work.
