Tiger Trailers has officially become the first trailer manufacturer and commercial vehicle bodybuilder to be a partner of Northern Powerhouse in its mission to strengthen the local economy through investment in culture, innovation, skills, and transport. This decision comes after a meeting in which the local Member of Parliament Antoinette Sandbach and Northern Powerhouse Minister, Jake Berry, have discussed the firmâs ambitious growth plans and its commitment to provide apprenticeships and graduate training.
Tiger has become a great success story for British manufacturing and weâre thrilled to be joining the Northern Powerhouse. In just four years weâve manufactured more than 4,000 trailers and bodies, developed a fantastic customer base and become one of the fastest growing businesses in our sector, said John Cartwright, Joint Managing Director of Tiger Trailers.
The manufacturer has also announced its plans to start the build phase for the new £22 million purpose-built factory located close to its current site. The factory will create approximately 270 new jobs, including 80 within the next 12 months. The site will become fully operational during early 2019.
