The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers Hold Annual General Meeting

The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers have recently held their Annual General Meeting. The meeting took place on the 7th October at the IAAF offices in Birmingham. The Federation discussed a range of topics, however, one of the more central discussion areas was the proposed petrol and diesel ban. The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers has celebrated its 80th anniversary this year and has also experienced growth, with more members also holding regional meetings. The creation of these regional meetings have proven so far to be very successful.

The Annual General Meetings offer an opportunity for the Federation’s members to gain an insight into the organisation’s activity as well as create a space for discussion of the key policies in this area. As technology continues to adapt and evolve, the Federation of Engine Remanufacturers has been looking at widening their remit having attracted attention from a number of companies that are looking to get more involved in the wider remanufacturing industry such as the remanufacturing of turbos and major units as well as the remanufacture of engines from commercial, agricultural and marine sectors.

There has also been news this year from the UK Government that there are plans to ban sole petrol and diesel cars from 2040. This news has been looked at the AGM and the Federation looked into how their members were able to better prepare for the future if this ban were to be put into place. The high attendance to this year’s meeting has been viewed as a keenness on behalf of the members in order to discuss the challenges that lie ahead and the meeting was also praised for adopting a more forward-thinking approach when it comes to tackling the key issues for the Federation members. The meeting also offered an opportunity for the Federation to express their intentions going forward and ensure the future of their members.
