The craft artisanal baker, The Bread Factory has managed to win the equivalent to the Oscarâs in the food industry. The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards was held recently at The Hilton on Park Lane in London and saw hundreds of food and drink industry guests to celebrate excellent manufacturing in this sector.
The Bread Factory was one of the businesses that were recognised and celebrates in front of the guests. The artisanal manufacturer was presented their award by Debbie Day, partner with category sponsor Lockton on Wednesday 1st November. This trophy was collected on behalf of The Bread Factory by The Food Manufacturer Groupâs publisher Sonia Young. They were also joined on stage by the host of the awards ceremony, the England Rugby Union World Cup winner and former team captain Matt Dawson.
The Bread Factory have set themselves a mission to grow the market for artisan bread, pastries and cakes. The food manufacturing company works to deliver craft-baked products on a commercial scale to offer to a range of different customers. Alongside their win at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, The Bread Factory is looking to increase their operational space, and has signed the lease for three new units located at their North London location. It is thought that they increase in space will help the company to increase their turnover, with a predicted increase of 17%.
The Finalists for the Bakery Manufacturing Company of the Year category won by The Bread Factory were Addo Group, American Muffin Company, Eric Richmond, Great British Biscotti Company and Warrens Bakery. The Great Biscotti company did however go on later in the awards ceremony to win the coveted SME Innovation of the Year title.
The Annual Food Manufacture Excellence Awards are in their 17th year. The Awards have become a premier showcase for food and drink manufacturing excellence in the UK.
