Food and Drink Federation Awards Winners Revealed

The 2017 Food and Drink Federation Awards ceremony took place on the 21st of September at London’s The Brewery. Looking to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s largest manufacturing sector, the Food and Drink Federation is the representative voice of the sector. It is great to celebrate and recognise the work carried out by companies and individuals in the sector throughout the year, with support also shown with the sponsorship of a number of awards by other companies.

Judges involved in selecting the winners for the awards had to select the most inventive and inspiring submissions for the 21 prizes announced on the night. Among the winners at the event was David King, the Marketing Manager at Bidfood in Slough who was awarded the Rising Star Award which was sponsored by PepsiCo UK. Grant Thornton UK LLP sponsored the Regional Growth Business Award which was given to The Yorkshire Wagyu Company Ltd, for Central & Northern England; Loch Duart Salmon in Sutherland for the Scotland and Northern Ireland region; Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn won the South East England category, and South West when to Bristol based ethical and quick service restaurant Friska. Finally, the Wales regional award was given to Tiny Rebel, a brewery in Newport.

Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company, the soft drinks manufacturer from Powys was given the Special Recognition Award sponsored by Santander for their impressive levels of growth as well as their demonstrations of commitment to continuity development as well as a strong environmental ethos.

The event is a great opportunity to celebrate this vital manufacturing sector and the benefit’s its success can have on the UK economy. With such a high standard of submissions across all categories, it is a great accolade to be announced as the winner at the industry awards. The event was hosted by the writer, comedian and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli, who also presented the awards to the worthy winners on the night. In preparation for next years’ awards, The Food and Drink Federation will be accepting submissions from November this year.
