The Runcorn Deputy Manager for CM Downton, Jannette Wallace has won the Leader Award at the Freight Transport Association Everywoman Transports & Logistics Awards 2017.
The awards ceremony took place at a gala lunch on the 21st of June. This is the tenth year the Everywoman Awards has taken place and the awards programme Highlights some of the most inspirational figures in the UK transport and logistics industry. There are twelve people recognised for the their hard work and contributions.
The women that are awarded with the tremendous accolades as part of the Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards and are sen to be the best in the ir respective fields. An award is given by the Freight Transport Association for making significant improvements the the road and rail infrastructure or those that are working on the warehouse logistics aspect of the company and developing the intricate logistics operations in this area.
Jannette Wallace the thoroughly deserving winner of the Leader Award at the Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards has been working at Downton for twelve years. When she first joined, the transport company had only one contract that was based in the North West. Since then, Jannette Wallace has been a central part of CM Downton as they have expanded. Jannette, as the manager of the Runcorn depot manages a team of more than 200 people and a fleet of 106 trucks. The depot based in Runcorn delivers team members and vehicles to seven different main contracts in the region. The depot is on a 10-acre site and consists of a 90,000 sq.ft. warehouse.
The Learner Award is a prestigious award for Jannette who has worked persistently as an advocate for more opportunities for women in the industry. Jannette also encourages this mentality in all of her colleagues in order to give more chances for women to get into leadership and progress in the transport sector.
