One of the worldâs leading energy and telecom cable industry businesses, Prysmian Group has announced that the undertaking of a range of extra works. Terna Rete Italia revealed the further work that was discussed earlier as an option in the contracted works of a project for Venetian Lagoon. The work for the submarine power cable links project was awarded to Prysmian Group originally after a European bid that took place last year. In the past the Group have also worked on projects that have created high voltage submarine cable link connecting in areas such as Venice, Murano and Mestre. Prysmian also has experience working on medium and low voltage cables that can be used in construction as well as infrastructure.

The new work that has been confirmed for the project are thought to be valued at around â¬20 million and will include the completion of strengthening works that are set to take place at the high power transmission grid that is located in the Venice area. The project that is being carried out will also include work on a 6km link which has been made from High Voltage Alternate Current 132 kV cables.
The cables that will be used in order to complete this extra work will be manufactured in an Arco Felice plant, which is near Naples. The Commissioning of the new set of works is set to take place in 2018.
