Industry experts from across the food and drink manufacturing supply chain are set to turn out in force for the Food and Drink Federation’s (FDF) first engineering and automation event on 28^th February at the organisation’s new offices in Central London, in an event that will focus on the future of engineering and the implementation of automation.

The day will be split into four different sessions, which are entitled ‘Looking Ahead: Future Challenges for Food Engineering’, ‘Making the Case for Automation’, ‘The Impact of Skills’ and The Big Engineering and Automation Challenges for Us’. There will be guest speakers as well as speeches from members and representatives of the FDF, such as Emma McLeod of Mondelez International, Ryan McNeill of Nestle and Keith Thornhill of Siemens.

Angela Coleshill, the Competitiveness Director at FDF, has commented ahead of the event, As we approach a time of increasing economic uncertainty, it is essential that food and drink manufacturers continue to grow levels of productivity by investing in automated technologies and by improving the skill levels of our workforce.

The occasion will provide an invaluable platform for attendees to learn more about technologies of the future and how safeguarding a pipeline of talent remains key to ensuring business growth.

So, what topics are going to be discussed on the day? The Future of Manufacturing, the 3 Stages of Robotics in Modern Food Production and Industry 4.0 will be amongst the discussed topics, as well as Joint Industry and Academia Potential, Up Skilling Your Existing Workforce and Funding Automation.
