New Investment at Aavid Thermacore

UK-based manufacturing firm Aavid Thermacore has addressed the growing demands that come from an increasing international order book, by investing in new technology that falls in line with the company’s philosophy to place emphasis on product development.

The North East based business works exclusively with cutting-edge, technology-driven business, universities and research institutions to stay ahead of the game in regards to technological developments, and the company specialises in the design and manufacture of thermal management solutions for a wide range of industries.

The recent investment is the acquisition of a new Mazak 530 Vertical Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Milling Machine, which is set to improve performance reliability and increase capacity, and in the same way that all of the company’s products are it is precision engineered to the highest quality to maintain the highest standards of performance.

This is the first technology investment we’ve made this year but I don’t expect it to be the last, commented Jim Robson, the Vice President of Operations at Aavid Thermacore. We’ve seen an increase in demand for our products not only by volume from new and returning customers but also in the complexity and diversity of their requirements.

Our ability to innovate coupled with the financial strength to invest has established our Ashington facilities at the centre of the global industry.  For example, on the back of work we’re doing with the European Space Agency, we’ve recently transferred production of our k-Core composite material, which has five times the thermal conductivity of a standard aluminium heat spreader, to Ashington in order to bring the product closer to its market.

Aavid Thermacore exports to countries all across Europe, Asia and Australasia, with over 75% of the company’s business being international, and this recent development will only help to further the business’s global footprint and extend the global customer base.
