Godfrey Syrett Secures Three New National Contracts

North East based furniture manufacturer Godfrey Syrett has secured three new national contracts.

Operating in the education, public, leisure, defence and commercial sectors, the company says the new deals are worth £2.2 million to the business.

After a tender process the firm has won a new contract with global construction company, Skanska, to supply accommodation furniture to a multi-million pound purpose-built military training centre in Worthy Down, Winchester.

The scheme will see much of the Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration relocated to the site, which will deliver world-class training facilities for key support personnel from each of the UK’s armed forces.

The specialist furniture firm has also secured a contract worth more than £1 million with the University of the West of England (UWE) to furnish its new £50 million state-of-the-art building, which will be home to the Bristol Business School and Bristol Law School.  The company had to beat off competition from a number of national competitors to secure the project.

Godfrey Syrett will work in close partnership with the University to offer creative solutions to complement the new social and learning spaces within the site which will offer its students and staff innovative ways of studying and working.

The company has also been awarded a new commercial contract with Lyreco, a worldwide distributor of workplace products.  Working as the contract’s primary supplier, Godfrey Syrett will deliver office furniture solutions to new multi-million pound premises on behalf of an international engineering firm in Stafford, which will be home to more than 400 staff.

Following a design brief by architects Peter Haddon & Partners, Godfrey Syrett will create open communication spaces with better facilities for meetings, visiting touchdown, flexible and smart working, breakout and training facilities.

Group Sales Director at Godfrey Syrett, David Hall, commented: We are delighted to have been awarded these two fantastic projects following a lengthy and highly competitive tender process.
