BNL Bearings has strengthened its global business development team by appointing Charlie Gage and Christina Shepherd as Business Development Managers to support customers across the UK, EMEA and North America.

Charlie is responsible for the UK and EMEA, while Christina, based in Michigan, joined BNL Bearings USA to develop opportunities across North America. Both will focus primarily on the automotive sector, while also exploring opportunities in other specialist markets.

Combining decades of bearing expertise with application-specific engineering, BNL develops precision polymer and composite radial ball bearings that provide smooth, reliable rotational performance while meeting the increasingly demanding requirements of modern systems.

Its solution-led, engineered approach enables features and components to be incorporated into bearing designs, potentially helping customers simplify assemblies, reduce part count and optimise overall designs.

Charlie Gage – UK and EMEA

Charlie has an engineering background and more than 15 years’ experience spanning application engineering, customer-facing roles and business development. His previous experience includes Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics and SMR Automotive Mirrors. He holds an engineering degree from UCL and an MSc from the University of Bath.

Charlie said: “What attracted me to BNL is its engineering approach. Rather than simply offering a standard bearing, we can understand the challenge and work with our engineering team to develop the right bearing solution for the application.”

Christina Shepherd – North America

Christina is an experienced professional with 15-plus years of experience in the automotive industry, including account management, business development, and customer-facing commercial roles with OEMs and Tier suppliers. She holds a degree in Marketing from Northern Michigan University. Christina said: “BNL’s ability to develop engineered bearing solutions creates some exciting opportunities, particularly in automotive. With my previous experience and knowledge of bearings and the automotive industry, I’m looking forward to developing new relationships and identifying new applications where we can bring a more innovative solution.”

Mark Goldsmith, Managing Director at BNL, said: “BNL’s custom-engineered solutions are already supporting steering systems, interior controls and numerous other automotive applications where precision, durability and consistent performance are essential. Charlie and Christina bring automotive experience and an understanding of the importance of working with customers. Their appointments strengthen our ability to identify opportunities and bring BNL’s engineering expertise into the conversation at an early stage.”

The appointments support BNL’s continued development across key international markets and its focus on identifying new applications for its engineered polymer bearing technology.
