ATG Access Secures 4th Consecutive RoSPA Gold Award

ATG Access, a leading manufacturer of hostile vehicle mitigation and perimeter security systems based in St Helens, has been recognised for its commitment to workplace health and safety after securing a RoSPA Gold Award for the fourth consecutive year.

The award recognises the company’s health and safety performance during the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025. According to RoSPA, Gold Award winners achieve a very high level of performance, demonstrating well-developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk, and very low levels of error, harm and loss.

The award was presented at the RoSPA Awards Ceremony held on 30 June 2026 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on Park Lane, where representatives from ATG Access were in attendance to receive the accolade.

The RoSPA Awards, organised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for the past 70 years, are the UK’s longest running and most respected health and safety awards, recognising organisations that demonstrate excellence in protecting people from accidental harm and work-related ill health.

This year’s award marks ATG Access’s fourth consecutive RoSPA Award and reflects the company’s continued focus on embedding health and safety throughout its operations, supply chain and project delivery activities.

Health and safety performance was assessed across a range of areas, including leadership, employee engagement, training and competence, contractor management, risk control, communication, auditing, incident investigation and continuous improvement.

During the assessment period, ATG Access achieved the highest health and safety audit score across its wider group at 91%, alongside one of the group’s strongest safety culture scores at 98%. The business has also recorded only one lost-time accident over the past five years.

Richard Ellis, Managing Director at ATG Access, said: “This award provides independent recognition of the work our teams put in every day to create and maintain a safe, healthy working environment. We are proud to have achieved this for the fourth time in a row, demonstrating our consistent commitment to protecting our people, supporting our customers and continuously improving the way we work.

“Health and safety is ingrained into our way of working, our mindset and our culture. We create safe working environments, invest in employee wellbeing, share best practice across our supply chain and maintain high standards of quality and operational performance. We want every employee, contractor and stakeholder to feel empowered to raise concerns, contribute ideas and help us improve. That commitment remains at the heart of everything we do.”

The company’s approach combines leadership engagement, employee involvement and investment in safety systems and training. Key initiatives contributing to the award included regular cross-functional health and safety committee meetings, enhanced contractor management processes, ongoing training programmes, mental health and wellbeing support, and the use of digital reporting tools to identify hazards and drive continuous improvement.

ATG Access has also invested in safety improvements across its operations, including new equipment, pedestrian detection systems and strengthened permit-to-work procedures.

Looking ahead, ATG Access plans to build on its RoSPA success through further health and safety initiatives, continued investment in training and culture programmes, and ongoing analysis of safety performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
