Cottam Brush Unveils Patent-Pending SPLITGRIP ™ to Revolutionise Industrial Maintenance Innovative engineering solution cuts maintenance downtime from days to hours

Cottam Brush Ltd, one of the UK’s leading specialist industrial brush manufacturers,  today announces the launch of SPLITGRIP™, a patent-pending modular roller brush system designed to  transform the way industrial brush maintenance is carried out. The innovative engineering solution enables brush  sections to be replaced without removing shafts, bearings or motors, significantly reducing maintenance  downtime and associated costs.

Developed in response to a longstanding challenge faced by maintenance teams across manufacturing,  processing, recycling and bulk handling industries, SPLITGRIP™ addresses the inefficiencies of conventional roller  brush systems, which often require extensive equipment disassembly before worn brush sections can be  replaced.

The breakthrough split-body design allows individual brush sections to be installed directly onto existing shafts,  eliminating much of the labour, disruption and production downtime traditionally associated with brush  replacement. Combined with a positive shaft grip mechanism, SPLITGRIP™ delivers reliable performance whilst  dramatically simplifying installation and maintenance procedures.

“With SPLITGRIP™, we’ve rethought roller brush maintenance from the ground up,” said Nick Palreyman, Head of  Product and Design at Cottam Brush Ltd. “Industrial operators are under constant pressure to maximise uptime  and reduce operating costs. By enabling brush changes without dismantling major equipment components,  SPLITGRIP ™ transforms maintenance from a production-stopping event into a fast, planned intervention.”

In addition to reducing maintenance downtime, SPLITGRIP™ is fully modular, allowing customers to replace only  worn sections rather than complete brush assemblies. This reduces replacement costs, lowers spare stock  requirements and minimises material waste. The system has also been designed for retrofit applications and can  be engineered to suit round, square and hexagonal shaft arrangements, enabling existing equipment to be  upgraded rather than replaced.

Suitable for conveyor systems, bulk handling operations, recycling plants, quarrying applications, processing  equipment and OEM machinery, SPLITGRIP ™ represents a significant advancement in maintainable industrial  brush technology.

The launch reinforces Cottam Brush’s commitment to developing innovative engineering solutions that improve  productivity, efficiency and sustainability for industrial customers.
