Cable Glands and Accessories for Every Area of Application

Berger correct cable glands and accessories in three thread types.

Wherever cables or lines are run through an enclosure wall, strain relief and sealing are required. Berger now offers the correct cable glands and accessories in three thread types.

Cable glands are proven standardised parts, now available from Berger in many different sizes and with various types of thread. Standard parts GN62444 are indispensable in mechanical engineering and plant construction and are used anywhere that cables, hos- es, or lines must be run through an enclosure or sepa- rating wall. Examples include switch cabinets, welding machines, battery storage systems, and e-charging stations, just to list a few. In all cases, these parts se- cure cables at the plane of entry to provide effective strain relief and sealing – in cable glands from Berger, this is achieved with a durable and reliable sealing and a clamping insert made of chloroprene rubber.

Berger offers cable glands with clamping diameters from 3 to 44 mm and three types of thread: metric types in dimensions M12 to M63, PG 7 to PG 48, and – specially for the US market – inch-based NPT thread with tapered profile. While PG thread has long since been replaced by metric standard dimensions, PG thread connections remain indispensable for solving real problems in the repair, retrofitting, or modification of older systems. Berger offers all three types in grey polyamide as well as in brass and (except for the NPT versions) in stainless steel for corrosive environments. For most applications, the plastic version is the first choice and offers the best cost-benefit ratio. In appli- cations where rough conditions and higher loads are encountered, Berger recommends the high-quality metal versions.

Naturally, the matching accessories can also be or- dered from Berger: Thin mounting nuts GN62444.1 in brass, plastic, or stainless steel secure the fittings when thin-walled enclosures or bulkhead panels only permit unthreaded through holes.

Threaded plugs GN62444.2 in brass or plastic secure- ly seal surplus existing enclosure holes.

Multiple sealing inserts GN62444.3 in thermoplastic elastomer allow for up to eight individual cables to be run together through a standard cable gland, making them extremely efficient in terms of space, time, and cost.

Reducers GN62444.4 enable the use of smaller cable glands, where standard enclosures holes are too large.
