Fronius UK Opens Regional Welding Technology Centre in Rotherham’s Advanced Manufacturing Park

Fronius new Technical Competence Centre, Sheffield

Fronius is proud to announce the opening of its new ”Technical Competence Centre” at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Catcliffe, just four miles from Sheffield. This facility allows the company to offer customers bespoke welding trials, demonstrations, training, servicing and dedicated technical support.

With a team of Sales, Service Engineers and Application Engineers on site, Fronius can now support regional customers more closely than ever before, strengthening its nationwide presence alongside locations in Milton Keynes and Kilmarnock.

Being close to their customers enables Fronius to spend more time on-site, understand their challenges in detail and provide the best possible support. This new centre allows a faster response, the ability to collaborate more closely and stand alongside manufacturers as they tackle their daily welding challenges together – living the motto: connected by welding, united by passion.

As a leading European manufacturer of advanced welding technology, Fronius continues to push innovation across manual gas shielded arc welding, high performance robotic systems, user friendly cobot welding solutions and fully automated welding systems. With more than 1,700 active patents worldwide, they remain committed to driving the next generation of welding technology.

The portfolio includes the high end iWave TIG system, the powerful TPS/i TWIN series, plug and play cobot welding solutions and our pioneering Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) process, enabling reliable joining of galvanised steel and aluminium. Their offering is further strengthened by the new Fronius Fortis, a versatile and intuitive manual MIG/MAG system built for long-term performance. These technologies are trusted across automotive, aerospace, nuclear, commercial vehicle manufacturing and heavy industry for their stability, repeatability and reliability.

As manufacturers face increasing pressures – from skills shortages to tighter quality and sustainability requirements – Fronius want to make welding easier, safer and more consistent for everyone. That’s why they prioritise intuitive operation, seam perfection and long-term sustainability. Every Fronius product is designed for durability, repairability and recyclability, made entirely in Europe and rigorously tested to deliver reliable performance for decades.
