World-leaders in gas measurement and control solutions, Chell Instruments, have launched a new high-accuracy calibration standard designed to complement their range of pressure and temperature scanners.
Available in both absolute (2401) and differential pressure standards (2402), the 2401/2402 provides a known, traceable pressure reference to test and calibrate Chell devices, delivering measurement accuracy of ±0.02% FS.
“For the sectors we support, even tiny pressure errors can affect performance, safety and speed – and our pressure scanners ensure these measurements are accurately captured and understood. In addition, it is common requirement to acquire reference pressures – such as barometric pressures – to a high accuracy and the 2401/2401 enables the user to do this using the same interface protocols as the pressure scanners” says Jamie Shanahan, Director of Chell Instruments.
The 2401/2402’s data output is available over the Chell standard range of Ethernet output interfaces; Chell native protocol, IENA, modbus and iDDS.
For seamless integration with existing technology, they also feature a Netscannner® emulation mode where a significant subset of the Netscanner commands are supported.
In addition to data output, the system includes an in-built web server for configuration and diagnostics, simplifying setup and ongoing system monitoring.
“Thermally compensated from 0° to 60°, fully configurable over Ethernet and operating at high speeds of up to 100Hz, the 2401/2402 are the ideal supporting devices for our world-leading range of pressure and temperature scanners – ensuring they’re always operating at peak performance” adds Jamie.
Established in 1976, North Walsham-based Chell Instruments produce pressure, vacuum and gas flow measurement equipment, providing some of the lowest data uncertainties available through their ISO17025 accredited UKAS calibration facility.
With their specialist technology supporting key sectors, including aerospace, pharmaceuticals, energy and motorsport, Chell Instruments regularly enhance their product range with new innovations.
“Coming up to 50 years of innovation, our focus remains on delivering precision measurement solutions our customers can rely on – introducing new instrumentation, such as the 2401/2402, that sets the standard for accuracy and reliability” concludes Jamie.
