Accu, a leading provider of precision engineering components, combined football and robotics to engage with a wider audience and demonstrate innovation, engineering and advanced manufacturing at this year’s Make UK National Manufacturing Conference 2026.
The event, which took place on Tuesday 3 March, saw Accu reveal the Accu Robotic Football Challenge. This features a small-scale replica of the iconic Accu Stadium truss alongside 3d printed football robots made by Accu’s engineers. Attendees took part in a 1-on-1 robot football game with the chance to win prizes, including a bag of Accu’s speciality coffee or a Wera Tool Set.
Patrick Faulkner, Lead Engineer at Accu, explains: “It was really exciting to take our Robotic Football Challenge to the Make UK National Manufacturing Conference. This was a great opportunity for us to engage with manufacturers and makers and to discuss the value of high quality precision components to any project, large or small.”
Accu demonsted its extensive range of precision components at the Make UK National Manufacturing Conference, including self tapping screws, brass inserts, marine grade stainless steel screws, nuts and bolts, plus many more.
The Make UK National Manufacturing Conference attracted over 700 delegates, with expert speakers in keynote sessions and panel discussions, as well as diving deeper into topics in a series of breakout sessions. The conference was a chance to connect with suppliers, see live demos, and get hands-on with the innovations shaping the future of industry.
