Taiwan Advances AI-Powered Precision Medicine

Taiwan is highlighting its strong position in global medical technology at MEDICA, one of the world’s largest medical trade fairs. As one of the leading exhibiting nations, Taiwan is showcasing its innovation and industrial expertise at this year’s event. More than 250 Taiwanese companies are presenting state-of-the-art solutions for intelligent diagnostics, robotics, and digital healthcare from November 17 to 20 at Messe Düsseldorf.

At the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion (Hall 16, Booth B13), 15 award-winning companies are featuring a curated “Best of Taiwan” showcase with 23 outstanding products. Organized around the themes “Smart Hospital,” “Efficient Clinic,” and “Home Care,” the exhibit highlights the latest developments in artificial intelligence and advanced surgery, precise diagnostics and point-of-care technologies, as well as connected, secure, and preventive home healthcare solutions.

The Taiwan Excellence Product Launch on the opening day attracted more than 60 representatives from international media and the medical technology industry. Under the theme “Taiwan’s MedTech Revolution: AI, Precision, and Personalized Medicine,” the press event, organized by the International Trade Administration of Taiwan (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), offered exclusive insights into Taiwan’s latest developments and strategies in the MedTech sector.

“As global healthcare systems evolve toward more personalized and sustainable care, Taiwan stands as a trusted partner, offering precision, efficiency, and human-centered innovation that supports healthier living from hospital to home,” said Simon Wang, President & CEO of TAITRA, in his opening remarks at the press conference.

During the Product Launch, four leading Taiwanese companies showcased their latest developments, vividly demonstrating how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of modern medicine. Medimaging Integrated Solution (MiiS) presented its AI-powered telemedicine and minimally invasive imaging solutions, which are transforming care delivery by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, streamlining clinical workflows, and empowering healthcare professionals with confident, data-driven decisions. EPED unveiled RETINA, a high-precision optical navigation system enabling real-time tracking in neurosurgery, ENT, craniofacial, and oral surgery. The system supports minimally invasive procedures with greater safety, fewer complications, and improved surgical precision.

V5med introduced its 4-in-1 V5 Lung AI, integrating nodule detection, coronary calcium scoring, COPD analysis, and lung fibrosis quantification to deliver faster, more accurate LDCT evaluations. The platform enhances clinical workflow efficiency and ranks among the few Asian AI systems with U.S. FDA clearance. SHENNONA presented the Open Shoulder Wheel, an intelligent rehabilitation device featuring precise magnetic control and IoT connectivity. Resistance and movement data are tracked in real time via an app, ensuring safe, efficient, and technology-driven shoulder rehabilitation.

Visitors can explore these and other innovations from Taiwan daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (until 4:00 p.m. on November 20) at the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, Hall 16, Booth B13.
