Skelmanthorpe Neighbours Take Yorkshire Innovation to the World

Electroparts and Holdson partnership shows how local businesses can lead global change.

Two businesses based in the small village of Skelmanthorpe in West Yorkshire are proving that local partnerships can have global impact.

Electroparts Ltd, an experienced contract electronic manufacturing company, has joined forces with its neighbour Holdson, a growing electrochemical polishing machine manufacturer. Together they are working to bring cleaner, more efficient manufacturing solutions to customers around the world.

The collaboration began when Holdson approached Electroparts with a challenge. They needed a reliable local partner to build and wire control panels for their innovative electroform machines. These machines help polish complex 3D printed parts in rapid turnarounds using sustainable technology. The process improves surface finishes while cutting down on energy use and environmental impact.

Thanks to their close proximity and shared values, the two companies quickly developed a smooth way of working together. Holdson supplied the designs and Electroparts used their expertise to build the panels in line with requirements. The result was a repeatable, tidy and effective solution that Holdson can now use across its entire product range.

“From our first meeting, I knew this would be an exciting partnership,” said Sharon Greenwood, General Manager at Electroparts. “Our teams have worked brilliantly together, and it’s been fantastic to see two Yorkshire businesses supporting one another to grow.”

Holdson was founded in 2023 after its team saw a need for a more sustainable approach to surface finishing in additive manufacturing. Based in Skelmanthorpe, the company now supplies its electroform machines across the UK and internationally. Despite this global reach, Holdson remains committed to working with local partners and keeping its supply chain close to home wherever possible.

Electroparts, which began in 1990, has grown from a small electronic assembly business to a trusted manufacturer of complex cable, wiring and box build solutions. They now produce thousands of units every day for customers across a wide range of sectors.

The partnership has already delivered results. Together, the two companies developed the control panel for Holdson’s EF-300 machine, laying the groundwork for a long-term relationship. Full documentation and internal designs were created to support future orders, helping Holdson grow its production in a more efficient and scalable way.

“Working with Electroparts has been a pleasure from start to finish,” said Zahir Jamil, Development Lead at Holdson. “We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited for what’s to come.”

This partnership is a great example of how local knowledge, shared values and teamwork can make a real difference. Both Electroparts and Holdson are proud to call Skelmanthorpe home, and proud to show that when Yorkshire businesses come together, they can achieve big things.

“Here in Yorkshire, success isn’t just about luck,” added Greenwood. “It’s about hard work, collaboration and community. And when we support each other, we all move forward.”
