Sony UK Technology Centre (UK TEC) has officially opened applications for its highly anticipated Apprentice and Graduate Programme for 2025.
The programmes, based at the Pencoed facility in South Wales, offer a structured blend of hands-on experience and academic learning, equipping participants with the skills required to thrive in today’s competitive industries.
These programmes have been instrumental in cultivating nearly 90 specialists since their inception, underscoring UK TEC’s commitment to developing talent across various disciplines.
The apprenticeship programme spans 3 to 4 years, depending on the chosen discipline, and offers participants the opportunity to work towards Higher Apprenticeship Qualifications such as HNC/HND or degree-level certifications. This year, UK TEC have opportunities in the following areas: Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Software/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Support.
Apprentices gain hands-on experience through on-site work placements within a manufacturing environment, complemented by academic studies at Cardiff and Vale College or Bridgend College in South Wales.
The graduate programme enables graduates to embark on a specific role within their chosen field, supported by an intensive two-year training and development plan aimed at fast-tracking them to higher-level positions within the company. Throughout the programme, graduates receive mentorship from industry-leading professionals and have touchpoints with all areas of the business, allowing them to draw on the experience of Sony team members at all levels.
The latest recruitment round follows a successful year for Sony UK Technology Centre’s current graduates and apprentices. In August, the centre celebrated its annual apprentice graduation ceremony, highlighting the achievements of its participants. Among this year’s apprentice graduates was Lewis Glover, a Business Control Analyst who pursued a non-traditional apprenticeship route. His exceptional performance earned him the prestigious Make UK Regional Award for Business Apprentice Final Year, and he is set to represent the region at the national awards in London in the new year.
Cecilia Fritz, Senior Manager of the People Department at Sony UK TEC, shared her enthusiasm for the 2025 programme: “We are thrilled to launch our 2025 Apprentice and Graduate Programmes, which reflect our ongoing investment in developing world-class talent. At Sony UK TEC, we believe in providing opportunities that empower individuals to excel in their chosen fields and contribute to the innovative projects we’re proud to deliver. Our programme is a gateway to exciting career prospects, and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of bright minds to our team.”
