Following the success of last year’s debut DVF clothing collection, global engineering and technology powerhouse Cosworth and automotive apparel brand The Cult of Machine have announced a new and exciting range: The Last Of The Independents which is set to be launched at Caffeine&Machine.
The all-new Last Of The Independents collection will be shown for the first time at The Cult Of Machine store at The Bowl in Bedford, UK, in the evening of Friday, 30th August as part of the legendary Caffeine&Machine experience. Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, 23rd August through the Caffeine&Machine website.
Revered for its rich history of engineering and technology greatness, Cosworth has been at the forefront of motorsport innovation for over 65 years. With achievements that include 36 seasons in Formula 1, 176 Grand Prix victories, 13 Drivers’ Championships and 10 Constructors’ Championships, Cosworth’s heritage is unmatched. And it’s this deep and unique independent Formula 1 pedigree that has served as an aesthetic inspiration for the new clothing line from The Cult Of Machine. At the nucleus is a set of carefully crafted designs that draw creativity from the fact that Cosworth is the last independent entrant in Formula 1, having left the sport in 2006, marking the completion of an era-defining chapter for both the company and the motorsport.
Bruce Wood, Managing Director of Cosworth’s propulsion division, highlights the importance of the company’s ongoing legacy and how such a unique heritage is helping to define pioneering technological prowess for the future: “Cosworth’s relationship with motorsport is inimitable, not just in terms of our success but in how we’ve stayed true to our independent spirit. Partnering with The Cult Of Machine and Caffeine&Machine allows us to celebrate this with the people who appreciate that history.
“This brand-new Last Of The Independents collaboration goes beyond apparel – it is a tribute to over 65 years of pushing engineering boundaries. As a company, we continue to harness the power of our past, helping us to define and shape the future. Recent collaborations with Bugatti and Red Bull are testament to the progress we continue to make, ensuring that we’re seen as a trusted, confident and skilled partner by the wider automotive industry.”
Tapping into the culture of independence that has long defined Cosworth, the new collection is a perfect synergy of Caffeine&Machine’s ethos of embracing the offbeat, the creative, and the passionate within the world of motoring. T-shirts – available in both white and black – are adorned with Cosworth and The Cult Of Machine branding, sitting on top of a skull and bones graphic inspired by a unique design that featured within a carbon fibre engine cowl on a 2006 Brazilian GP car. A cap, lanyards, roundel stickers and an air freshener are also part of the new collection.
On the evening of Friday, 30th August at The Bowl in Bedford, the Caffeine&Machine gathering will transform into a true celebration of Cosworth’s remarkable innovations through the years, featuring a handpicked showcase of renowned road and race cars powered by the company’s legendary engines. The gathering is a rare opportunity for fans and enthusiasts to see firsthand what makes Cosworth a leader in performance engineering.
Phil McGovern, Caffeine&Machine Founder and Director, said: “Cosworth’s impact on motorsport and performance engineering is second to none. From its early days refining Ford engines to the revolutionary DFV V8, the company has consistently pushed the envelope. We’re thrilled to celebrate their history in our own unique way at The Bowl as part of the Caffeine&Machine experience, and to offer our wonderful community something special in our The Cult Of Machine store that will reflect Cosworth’s authentic and independent innovative spirit.”
Chris Sparks, Managing Director of Faster Brands, who has been instrumental in fostering the collaboration between Cosworth and Caffeine&Machine, added: “This partnership continues to grow from strength to strength. Caffeine&Machine has provided a perfect backdrop to share with a passionate community the incredible story of Cosworth’s achievements. This year will be another milestone in that journey.”
Fans of Cosworth and Caffeine&Machine are invited to join the curated celebrations of unparalleled engineering greatness, motorsport excellence and lifestyle innovation at The Bowl in Bedford on Friday, 30th August.
Tickets for the event will be available from Friday, 23rd August through the Caffeine&Machine website.
