Electrical and digital infrastructure specialist, Legrand, has demonstrated its commitment to quality and UK manufacturing by joining the Made in Britain organisation.

Made in Britain is a not-for-profit organisation which collaborates with UK trade bodies, relevant government departments and media channels, to promote high quality employment, responsible business and sustainable economic growth in manufacturing.  Legrand, is proud to design and manufacture the majority of the products that it sells in Britain and now its products can proudly carry the official mark for British Manufacturing.

Headquartered in Birmingham, the company has manufacturing facilities in six locations across the UK, including Wembley, Scarborough and Consett, where it manufactures many of its well-regarded products. The extensive portfolio manufactured in the UK includes the complete range of Swifts cable tray and ladder, the Salamandre distribution trunking range, Electrak powertrack, floor boxes, grommets and desk modules, CP Electronics lighting control solutions and USystems cooling solutions for data centres.

Bringing together the knowledge and expertise of its 800 UK employees, Legrand is split into four business units: Cable Management, Critical Power, Digital Infrastructures and Working & Living Spaces. Together, they ensure electrical professionals are best placed to receive the solutions and expertise required for any project.

Pascal Stutz, CEO of Legrand UK & Ireland, said: “Legrand has been a proud UK manufacturer for over 40 years. During this time, the company has grown its expertise to become a trusted partner to contractors, specifiers, wholesalers, installers, facilities managers and building occupants, through our extensive catalogue of products, training opportunities and support services.

“Our impressive product range allows us to support projects across a plethora of sectors, offering solutions that help transform buildings where people live, work and meet. The Made in Britain membership is confirmation of the impact we have in the UK, and we look forward to continuing our journey of improving lives through our innovative and sustainable solutions.”

The achievement follows recent investments by Legrand to make its facilities greener. Its site in West Bromwich, which serves as Legrand’s National Distribution Centre, has recently achieved significant CO2 savings through the installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) panel array on its roof. Other investments made by Legrand to reduce carbon include procuring more sustainable components and materials for the products it manufactures and designing products to be as energy efficient as possible.
