Element Celebrates Opening of New Connected Technologies Laboratory

Element Materials Technology (Element), a global provider of testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, hosted the grand opening of its new $10m Connected Technologies Center of Excellence in Surrey, Guildford.

In attendance were Element customers, suppliers, technical experts, and special guests including Lord Jamie Lindsay, Chair of UKAS; Jonathan Lord, MP for Woking; and representatives from the Surrey Chambers of Commerce. Visitors joined together for an official ribbon cutting, an exclusive tour of the site, plus demonstrations from Element’s experts.

Element Surrey Hills is a purpose-built location fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure. The 25,000 sq. ft facility has been constructed to support the latest advancements in consumer electronics, medical devices, and wireless industries in Europe and beyond, by creating more capacity for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), radio and wireless testing, and introducing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing to Element’s service portfolio in Europe.

Element Surrey Hills joins the organization’s existing 44 Connected Technologies and Mobility facilities in the UK, USA, Germany, South Korea, and Japan, and its team of over 1,200 technology experts. Element’s Connected Technologies and Mobility services span mobile and cellular devices, consumer electronics, the Internet of Things (IoT), telecommunications regulatory services, medical devices, automotive, and more.
