Marketing Experts Hope National Manufacturing Day Helps Open doors for Niche Firms

National Manufacturing Day

Manufacturing and engineering marketing specialists, Full Mix Marketing, are hopeful National Manufacturing Day on 26th September will help highlight the diversity of British manufacturers and engineers.

Now in its third year, the Make UK initiative encourages manufacturers to let the public see inside their operations.

“Arguably the most astonishing thing about the UK is the frequency and diversity of the manufacturing and engineering businesses we have. On almost any industrial estate, in any town, there are creative companies producing impressive things in many niches!” says Sarah West, Managing Director of Full Mix Marketing.

The day is organised by Make UK, a membership organisation which represents British manufacturers and helps build a platform for the sector’s growth.

This year’s National Manufacturing Day is an ‘open house’ event, enabling manufacturers to open their doors so local communities can see the potential careers and jobs on offer within the diverse sector.

However, it is the encouragement to increase awareness of what they do that the B2B marketing agency believe may be the most important legacy of the day for manufacturing firms.

“Often built around long-term relationships, manufacturing and engineering can sometimes feel quite isolated. Our role is to help our clients reach more companies who are interested in what they deliver, so we’re optimistic events like this help highlight the benefits of increasing their profile” states Sarah.

Full Mix Marketing is a leading B2B marketing agency which works with companies across the UK in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, technology, construction and business services.

As well as providing individual elements of digital, non-digital and strategic marketing, they can also act as their clients’ entire outsourced marketing department.

And it is exposure and marketing, such as opening their doors on National Manufacturing Day, which they believe has become the driving force behind many manufacturer’ growth.

“In a shrinking world, marketing is enabling manufacturers to quickly discover new relationships with customers not only in the UK but around the globe. Simply boosting awareness of what they do can itself deliver opportunities and drive sales” adds Sarah.

According to Make UK, the UK is the world’s eighth biggest manufacturer, with the sector accounting for 10% of the economy. Wages in the sector are 9% above the national average.

Full Mix Marketing work with clients who design and manufacture products as diverse as heating, electronics, instrumentation, packaging and lifting equipment.

“Sadly, we don’t have factory doors of our own to open on National Manufacturing Day but we are passionate about British manufacturing and anything which shines a light on the fantastic things we do and make in the UK!” concludes Sarah.
