Multimillion Pound Investments Continue to Drive Growth at Mobile Mini
Mobile Mini, a leading hirer of portable accommodation and secure storage containers, with its global operations based in Arizona and UK headquarters based in Stockton on Tees, has reported record results for its UK business. Annual income hit £59.8m for 2016, a 3.8% increase on 2015. The record revenue is being credited in part to the £7.9m Mobile Mini invested in growing its existing hire UK fleet of steel storage containers, portable offices, canteens and toilets, which now stands at almost 40,000 units, operated across sixteen UK branches stretching from Glasgow to Southampton. A significant part of this investment was the addition of the new range of industry-leading, energy-efficient Groundhog GP360 Fusion mobile welfare units, considered the most innovative, cost effective and environmentally efficient unit of its kind. Following the recent success of the new Groundhogs, Mobile Mini will be investing in adding more units to its fleet over the next 12 months. £3.7m was also invested in new fuel-efficient delivery vehicles, with fifteen trucks being replaced and an additional eight trucks added to the fleet. These new additions took the size of the Companyâs fleet of lorry mounted loader crane vehicles to 50, the largest fleet of its kind in the UK. The Company also received a Gold Level award in the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) for the fourth year running, the only company in its industry to have achieved this feat. 2016 was rounded off with the double acquisition of Gateshead-based Containers 2000 and Mr Box, headquartered in Ipswich. Both acquisitions give Mobile Mini the opportunity to strengthen its existing container hire and sales business and will help extend its presence in key non-construction markets such as retail, hospitality and education. Chris Morgan, Managing Director at Mobile Mini, commented: 2016 has been another successful year in terms of growth, with continued investment in our people, products and equipment. Expansion across the country means weâre confident we will always have the right products on offer for our customers when they need them. As we move through the next 12 months, weâre determined to maintain our market leading position by continuing to invest in growing and refurbishing our fleet, as well as the talented team at the Company.
