Production of Morgan’s current flagship, Plus Six, is due to finish in early 2025 with a run of 30 limited-edition models known as Plus Six Pinnacle, culminating more than five years of successful Plus Six production. This edition represents the final high-powered classic shape Morgan sports car, ending a lineage that dates more than 50 years to the beginning of Plus 8 production in 1968.
Plus Six Pinnacle showcases Morgan’s bespoke abilities, featuring a curated selection of the most exclusive ‘special options’ requested by customers throughout the life of Plus Six.
Morgan will introduce its all-new flagship in 2025.
Bespoke As Standard
Each Plus Six Pinnacle will be available with one of three interior colourways which encompass three new Morgan leather options – Fawn, Explore, and Riviera – developed in partnership with Bridge of Weir. Fawn is a light camel tan, Riviera is a soft blue and Explore is a rich dark brown with a pebble grain texture. All three leather options have been designed to be neutral and complement a range of exterior colours. Plus Six Pinnacle is finished in a choice of any exterior paint colour, including paint to sample, at no additional cost to the customer. Morgan retains the ability to paint an almost endless list of paint colours as well as help customers to create bespoke formulations should they wish.
As part of the company’s continued exploration of new materials, Plus Six Pinnacle features natural sheepskin carpets that complement the interior leather options. These carpets are thick, soft and inviting to further carry the feeling of luxury into the footwell and rear stowage area. Each carpet is a perfect colour match to the three leather options, and the deep pile carpets provide a high level of textural contrast against the smooth leather.
Morgan’s Design team have worked closely with the craftspeople in the Trim Shop to develop a unique stitch pattern that offers a combination of pleats and quilts, an option that requires hand stitching and tying off to enable the change in direction and unique convergence pattern. The pattern is designed to run vertically up the seat back before converging and crossing to present the Pinnacle logo above, with logo embroidery positioned on the backrest for the first time in a Plus model interior. This unique stitching treatment is reflected on the doors.
Plus Six Pinnacle continues Morgan’s exploration into teak wood, a material first utilised on the cockpit surrounds of Morgan’s limited run special project, Midsummer. Each Plus Six Pinnacle will feature a teak veneer centre column and solid teak dashboard lower rail. Drawing on inspirations from Japanese marquetry, the Pinnacle logo is finished in aluminium and inlaid into the centre column veneer.
All Plus Six Pinnacle editions will be delivered with a satin warm silver finish to the wheels, stone guard and dashboard, a colour selected due to connotations of champagne and victory, but softened to ensure neutrality when complementing any exterior colour. Plus Six Pinnacle features a Le Mans style flip-up fuel filler cap with a polished finish. The finish of the fuel cap coordinates with the new exterior and interior mirrors, and steering wheel centre, fitted to Plus Six for the first time and encapsulating Morgan’s philosophy of continuous quality improvements to all its models.
Last of the high-powered classic shape Morgan sports cars
With an almost 60-year heritage that began with the V8-powered Plus 8 in 1968 and evolved into the inline-six powered Plus Six in 2019, the 30 Plus Six Pinnacle vehicles will be the final high-capacity Morgan sports cars with the traditional wing silhouette.
Plus Six has enjoyed a successful five years in production since its introduction in 2019. With almost 1,000 uniquely commissioned vehicles delivered to customers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, Plus Six has been widely associated with ushering in a new era of performance and refinement to the Morgan range. The combination of exhilarating power mixed with classic styling has delighted owners and enthusiasts alike and it remains the most dynamically capable Morgan ever produced. The latest Plus Six represents the pinnacle of high-capacity classic shape Morgan sports cars.
Plus Six was the first Morgan to use the CX-generation aluminium bonded platform and the first Morgan to use a turbo-charged engine, an engine and platform combination that was utilised as the basis for Midsummer, the limited-run Barchetta designed in collaboration with Pininfarina that was launched earlier this year.
Special Requests are Commonplace
An almost endless combination of options and colourways means that every Morgan is unique and is bespoke built to the tastes and desires of its owner. Morgan discusses regular customer special requests across all models, ranging in complexity from special order paintwork through to one-off materials and bespoke interior trim. Every customer special request involves consultation with Morgan’s craftspeople who utilise their skill and experience to deliver it to the highest quality possible.
Plus Six Pinnacle exhibits Morgan as the Pinnacle of Bespoke.
The Pinnacle Name
The Pinnacle emblem features in several locations throughout the vehicle, it is multi-faceted like a precious gemstone imbuing undertones of luxury and rarity, it also represents the different facets of Morgan working in unison to create its unique take on coach-built sports cars. The emblem is also partially inspired by the rocky faces of the Malvern Hills, at the base of which sits the company’s historic home on Pickersleigh Road. One such hill is named Pinnacle Hill, a name that speaks to the intention of the project to become the apogee of Plus Six.
Jonathan Wells, Chief Design Officer, Morgan Motor Company, said:
“As designers at Morgan, we spend a great deal of time gathering inspiration from countless sources and relish the opportunity to explore how these ideas can be applied to our cars. Being informed by our craftspeople, whilst experimenting with new materials and techniques, is what makes Morgan such a rewarding place to work. Plus Six Pinnacle commemorates the end of the line for one of our most-beloved models, and I believe it is a true reflection of the unique abilities and energy residing in the teams that have been responsible for it.
“The cars we create are exhilarating to drive but also offer an escape, providing a comforting, relaxing, and engaging natural environment through the use of high-quality materials. This project has enabled us to build upon this. Plus Six Pinnacle represents a truly befitting conclusion to the Plus Six story, and the team and I have greatly enjoyed crafting this special edition to celebrate everything this model stands for.”
Plus Six Pinnacle is available to order from Morgan’s network of dealers today and is strictly limited to 30 vehicles. It represents a final opportunity to purchase a high-capacity Morgan with the traditional wings silhouette.
