Hyundai has announced plans for a special edition version of the Santa Fe SUV in celebration of its exclusive partnership with Sir Bradley Wigginsâ cycling team.
The Team Wiggins Edition is based on the Hyundai Santa Fe Premium SE and is differentiated from the standard SUV by a series of new detailing features.
The Korean car manufacturing giant also revealed that only 500 of the new model will be built, with each one benefitting from the Premium SEâs standard equipment, including ventilated front seats, a parking assist system, a small electric tailgate, a panoramic sunroof and dynamic headlights with automatic high beam.
Furthermore, the Team Wiggins Edition will have new 19 inch alloy wheels and its own unique badging.
The special edition will be available in five body colours â pearl effect Phantom Black, metallic Ocean View blue, metallic Titanium Silver, solid Creamy White and an all new pearl effect White Crystal.
Hyundaiâs Marketing Director, David Pugh, said that the company is pleased to be celebrating the successful Team Wiggins partnership by producing the special model that gives a unique and desirable twist to one of the companyâs iconic models.
He added that the special edition offers great value as well as looking the part and is packed full of top equipment, insisting that buyers will need to be quick to get their hands on one of the 500 vehicles produced.
Through the 2016 racing calendar, Wiggins and his team will use five cars, comprising of an iLoad van, two Santa Fes and two i40 Tourers.
The fleet will follow Team Wiggins throughout the UK and Europe this summer, including the Tour of Britain which commences on September 4.
Hyundai also confirmed that they will only be offering one engine on the Santa Fe Team Wiggins Edition â the 2.2 litre CRDi diesel â though there will still be a choice of automatic of manual transmissions.
