The countdown is on for EXPO Ferroviaria 2023, Italy’s showcase for railway technologies, products and systems to be held from 3 to 5 October 2023 at Fiera Milano Rho, Milan, Italy. The event, called together under the slogan “Time to plan the future”, is an opportunity for railway professionals from Italy, Europe and around the world to share new trends, product launches, foster corporate marketing activities, and personally meet customers, suppliers and business partners.

Renewed public interest in rail travel and growing concern about climate change are driving the attention of world powers towards more sustainable mobility. Italy is no exception and, in this context, Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) aims to restore the country’s economy to pre-pandemic levels. The main priorities include the realisation of a modern, digitalised and sustainable infrastructure system, focused on reducing carbon emissions, as well as the implementation of high-speed projects and improvements to connections to Southern Italy, offering attractive new development opportunities for companies in the sector.

Testifying to the importance of the event, there are almost 100 accredited exhibitors, including some big names in the industry: Alstom Ferroviaria, Knorr-Bremse Rail System Italia, Lucchini RS, ABB, Salcef, GCF – Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie, Vossloh Sistemi and DITECFER – District for Railway Technologies, High Speed, Networks’ Safety & Security.

For the first time, EXPO Ferroviaria will feature the Aerospace Technology Hub, an area dedicated to companies presenting aerospace technologies applied to the railway sector. Organised in partnership with Italy’s National Aerospace Technology Cluster (CTNA), this space will showcase the integration between both industries at a scientific, design and technological level, and how it is becoming increasingly common due to the evolution of rail transport.

EXPO Ferroviaria will, as usual, include an intensive programme of lectures, seminars, workshops and exhibitor presentations, which will provide visitors with relevant discussions and opinions on technology trends.

The event is organised by Mack-Brooks Exhibitions, part of RX Global (https://www.mackbrooks.com/about) which organises targeted B2B exhibitions around the world in various industrial sectors. For the railway sector it also organises Railtex in the UK and SIFER in France.
