Creative Insights, Prototypes and UI/UX Summit

Munich, Germany – May 5-8 2025 sees the leading lights of global automotive design – present and future – come together in Munich for another Car Design Event (CDE) gathering, marking the third year of this landmark event for the European industry.

Presented by the team behind this year’s GTEST (Alsfeld, 23-27 Jun),  CDE Classic (Frankfurt, 14-17 Sept) and The GCOTY Awards (Munich, October), CDE is fast establishing itself as the kick off to the Summer season of automotive debuts and events.  Additionally, the event held at Munich’s prestigious Drivers & Business Club has become a key gathering for the industry’s design departments and carrozzeria, suppliers and educational institutions alike.

This year sees a number of significant debuts, with full details revealed on the 5th of May. Breaking cover in Europe at CDE 2025 is a fashionable new American EV company; also, showing a design model for the first time is a revitalised cult auto brand alongside a number of other reveals from across the mobility and luxury landscapes.

As the event grows year-on-year, 2025 will see more than 100 media and influencers in attendance and special presentations from no fewer than 15 iconic auto brands and much more besides, including details of a superyacht debut from famed Dutch shipyard, Feadship.  Brands featured include Bertone, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Genesis, Hyundai, Kia, Lamborghini, Pagani, Pininfarina, VW and others.

CDE co-founder, Jens Meiners, said: “CDE was established to provide a new platform for the celebration of automotive design as the world around us shifts and the demise of key events changes the auto calendar.  It is an event where the world’s auto media can see, in one place, the best of the best of new automotive design, and speak to the talent and brains behind these creations.  We have made the event as flexible and accessible as we can for brands to be involved, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support and attention CDE has drawn so far.”

Co-founder Des Sellmeijer, added: “2025 is lining up to be the biggest CDE to date, and we are very excited about the launches, master-classes and future-gazing that is to take place.  Our theme for this year’s summit is user interface and user experience (UI/UX). We are bringing in pioneers and innovators from across this space to share visions for the future and to inspire the next generation of automotive and mobility designs.”
