Charlene Lewis, is a Technical Support Technician Apprentice Level 6 with Cummins in Huddersfield: “The Technical Support Technician apprenticeship enabled me to gain a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process by training on various CNC machines and assembly lines. As a result, I was able to comfortably use the knowledge and experience I had gained when problem-solving situations occurred.
“Everyone I worked with was extremely supportive of my training and development as an apprentice and made my experience enjoyable. I genuinely couldn’t imagine working anywhere else as Cummins always strives to develop talent much further than the apprenticeship level.
“Investing the best resources into individuals such as myself to aid various training opportunities and support with my mechanical Engineering degree has made me feel confident that I can have a strong future here at Cummins.”
Jonathan Wood, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Cummins, commented: “It’s fantastic to celebrate the growth of our apprenticeship programme across the UK during National Apprenticeship Week 2025. We’re confident that apprenticeship training equips people with skills for life, whether that is those beginning a career or reskilling within an industry. We look forward to building on the success of this year’s programme at Cummins.”
